Individual and Family Counselling

Karen To’omua

Grad.Cert.Counselling and Family Therapy

Hi - I’m Karen and I was born and raised in New Zealand, I’m married to an awesome Samoan man and we have 3 wonderful adult kids - all married - and a gorgeous granddaughter.

As a family, we have been involved in recreational and professional sports since the kids were young. My husband and I have worked for many years amongst Pacific Islanders and Australian indigenous, championing who they are and the strengths that lie within them.

I am a qualified Counsellor and Family Therapist and currently associated with Foundations Counselling Centre, which was established in 1999 as a professional counselling service to the community in response to a clear need for the provision of high quality counselling and assessment services provided by consultants holding a Christian world view. Our current clients come from a wide cross-section of the community and include people from a young age to the elderly.

I am passionate about being available to those who are needing support – by being a listening ear, by offering guidance in working through blockages, by addressing core beliefs, thoughts or feelings and by helping people recognise their goals and how to get there.

I believe in the support of community, family and friends to help us get through life’s challenges. If I can be of any help to you in your life then please let me know – we can meet over Skype and all information is kept confidential
